Your Driving Lesson...
Before you can start your driving lessons you need to have a provisional driving licence. Therefore, if
you do not have one you will need to apply for one from the DVLA.
The D1 form to apply for a provisional licence is also available from the Post Office. You will need to bring
your provisional licence with you to your first lesson (both the photocard and the paper counterpart).
During your first lesson you will be asked to read a number plate from 20m to check your eyesight meets the
legal requirement. If you wear spectacles or corrective lenses please ensure you have them with you.
Instruction is given using up-to-date teaching methods and visual aids to help you improve during each
lesson. As a member of the Motor Schools Association (MSA), the West Lothian Driving Instructors
Association (WLDIA) and with regular updates from the Driving Standards Agency (DSA), I am always kept
up-to-date with the latest information concerning the Theory and Practical Driving Test.
Your Instructor: My name is Sally Robinson, and I live in Livingston, West Lothian. I am able to cover the
whole of West Lothian and the west side of Edinburgh, using the Test Centres in Bathgate and Currie. After
20 years of driving experience, I became a fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) in September
2005. Initially trading under the Learner Driving Centre (LDC) before starting Sally's Driving School in July
2007.
The Car: I currently use a Citroen C2 1.4 SX Diesel, fitted with Dual Controls, Air Conditioning,
Power Steering and both driver seat and steering column adjustment, which caters for various heights of pupils.
